Day 5: Your spiritual well-being matters!

Day 5 Your spiritual well-being matters!

We have come to the end of the course. We hope that you are more aware of why your spiritual well-being matters and have developed some new habits for looking after yourself. You should also feel more informed about how your organisation can support you through emotionally demanding situations.

At the start of the course we highlighted how reflective activities are an opportunity to think about your experiences and in the podcasts, you have heard from frontline staff about the importance of reflection.
Today’s activity involves reflecting on your learning from the week. There is no podcast today as we want you to focus on your learning and we would encourage you to share your reflections with your ‘go-to’ person, your supervisor or mentor, or other trusted colleagues.

Activity – Reflecting on your learning from the course

Today’s activity involves you reflecting on your learning from the week. We would like you to do this in two ways:

  1. Have a discussion with your ‘go-to’ person and/or other colleagues if you have been doing this course as part of a group.
  2. Complete your Course Learning Diary, get it signed by your ‘go-to’ person or supervisor and use it to obtain an Open Badge for the course.

Use the following questions to guide your discussion:

Why does your spiritual well-being matter?
What 3 things have you learned from the course?
What will you do differently to look after your spiritual well-being?

So that’s it, thanks for being involved. We hope that you have found the course interesting, informative, and dare we say it, fun to do. We also hope that you are keen to do another course in our programme. Click on any of the links below for more information.

Spiritual Care Matters 1 – Supporting the spiritual needs of older people

There is just one last thing, in the next couple of days, we will send you an email asking for your feedback, which helps us to improve the course for other learners. We look forward to hearing your comments.
